After six fantastic weeks of Candy Craziness, we have a champion! The Cinderella story, Tootsie Roll Pops, climbed to the top of the Candy Craziness pile. As a reminder, each week we calculated total units sold of the standard-sized candies, Monday through Sunday. Tootsie Roll Pops outlasted Snickers in a nail biter, winning the championship by only 126 units. As a result, April 22 through April 26, a coupon for a free Tootsie Roll Pop will be on the UltraOne Kiosk. Be sure to stop into one of our locations before they are 1, ah-2, ah-3, gone!
Tootsie Roll Pops were an underdog through the tournament. The only matchup throughout the tournament that they were favored in was the Chewy Regionals Championship against fellow sucker, Original Gourmet Lollipops. When they were up against Airheads, Starburst, Haribo Goldbears, and Snickers, the odds were not in their favor—or so we thought. Every single week up until the Championship matchup, they won their brackets in convincing fashion. The championship was a tremendous back-and-forth affair. On average, Tootsie Roll Pops was only 18 units better than Snickers throughout the week. Snickers was seemingly the Goliath to Tootsie Roll Pops David.
A special shout out to the Chocolate Region and second-place winner Snickers, who with the help of a buy one get one free promotion had the best single week of the tournament and has most units sold during the duration. Snickers looked to be in cruise control until they ran into Tootsie Roll Pops. They had a tremendously strong showing. Unfortunately, they just were not able to finish it off in the end.
