It’s no secret that winter weather causes diesel problems. Drops in temperature can cause the paraffin wax in diesel to solidify. And depending on routes this winter, your winterized diesel needs may change due to fluctuations in local temperatures. But, with tailored winterized diesel and fuel additives being sold at TA®, Petro Stopping Centers®, and TA Express® travel centers across the country, we’ve got you covered for all the roads you travel—no matter what make or model you drive.
Will your diesel withstand local temperatures?
The lowest temperature at which diesel fuel can still flow freely without solidifying and causing problems is called the cold filter plugging point (CFPP). Running on untreated fuel in freezing temperatures can bring your fuel to the CFPP and cause fuel gelling, plugged filters, frozen fuel lines, and unwanted downtime for you or your fleet.
Winterized diesel and fuel additives lower the CFPP to prevent fuel gelling and give drivers the longevity needed to complete their winter drives safely and efficiently. And with custom blends tailored to each geographic location—plus fuel additives sold separately—TravelCenters of America® provides treated diesel for any weather.
For peace of mind on the winter roads, TA’s diesel is:
- treated up to three times and monitored year-round so you’re covered in all weather.
- specially formulated to reduce the CFPP, wherever your winter routes take you.
- adaptive to changes in local conditions—we can reduce or suspend blends altogether.
To help protect your equipment and keep your diesel engines rolling, purchase winterized diesel and additional fuel additives at participating TA®, Petro Stopping Centers®, and TA Express® fuel islands. With more than 270 locations across 44 states, we’re available when and where you need us. Because drivers who are prepared for anything deserve fuel that’s prepared for anything, too.
