TravelCenters of America Recognizes Human Trafficking Prevention Month

While January is officially National Human Trafficking Prevention Month, we recognize every month as an opportunity to prevent human trafficking.

For over a decade, TA has collaborated with Truckers Against Trafficking (TAT).

In collaboration with TAT, every TA team member receives annual training on human trafficking – how to recognize it and how to report it. In addition, we share information at every TA site, so those in need know how and where to go for help. TAT posters are prominently displayed in guest-facing areas – not just in January, but every month.

In recognition of National Human Trafficking Prevention Month, TA is encouraging all team members to wear blue on January 11 to help raise awareness of human trafficking. In addition, TA CEO Debi Boffa will present TAT with a $10,000 donation to help continue the organization’s important work.

“As an organization that has nearly 300 travel centers coast to coast, TA is in a unique position to help prevent human trafficking,” said Debi. “Our team members are the eyes and ears of the highway. Together, we will work to educate, empower and take action to combat human trafficking.”
