TravelCenters of America raises a record $250,000 through its eighth annual charity golf outing
Westlake, Ohio – Sept. 8, 2026 – TravelCenters of America (TA), part of the bp portfolio, celebrated a major milestone in its commitment to supporting the trucking community and human trafficking victims, raising a record $250,000 through its eighth annual charity golf outing.
Held at Springvale Golf Course, this year’s event brought together TA leadership, team members, sponsors, and industry partners for a day centered on connection, generosity and purpose. Proceeds from the event benefit St. Christopher Truckers Relief Fund (SCF) and TAT (formerly known as Truckers Against Trafficking), two organizations whose missions directly support professional drivers and the communities TA serves.
The $250,000 raised this year marks a remarkable eight-year journey. When TA hosted its first golf outing in 2018, the event raised $25,000. Since then, the generosity of TA’s sponsors, partners and team members has helped the event grow into the company’s signature charitable initiative.
“What started eight years ago as an effort to make a difference has grown into something truly special,” said Jason Nordin, CEO, TA. “Reaching $250,000 this year is an incredible milestone, but what means even more is the impact these contributions have on professional drivers, their families and survivors of human trafficking. We are grateful to everyone who continues to show up and support these important causes.”
The event also reflects TA’s longstanding commitment to giving back to the trucking industry. Through its partnership with SCF, TA helps support professional drivers and their families during times of financial hardship.

TA’s longstanding collaboration with TAT supports efforts to educate the trucking industry and equip professional drivers and team members to recognize and report signs of human trafficking.
“TA has been a TAT supporter and anti-trafficking leader for over a decade. The significant funds TA raises for TAT through its annual golf outing help to fuel our mission to educate and equip the transportation industry to combat human trafficking,” said Annie Sovcik, senior director of programs and strategic initiatives, TAT. “Beyond its generous financial support, TA regularly promotes human trafficking awareness through various channels, resulting in a network of frontline employees who know how to respond effectively to help in the recovery of survivors or investigation of perpetrators.”
From $25,000 in its first year to $250,000 in its eighth, the golf outing represents more than a fundraising milestone; it demonstrates what can happen when TA and its partners come together around a shared commitment to serve others.
