TravelCenters of America Opens LNG Fueling Lanes off I-10 in Texas and Louisiana

Six TravelCenters Truck Service Facilities Now Open to Service Natural Gas Vehicles

TravelCenters of America LLC (TravelCenters), operator of the TA® and Petro Stopping Centers® travel center brands, has announced the opening of LNG (liquefied natural gas) fueling lanes for trucks at its TA locations at I-10, Exit 789 (Thompson Rd.), in Baytown, TX and I-10, Exit 101 (North University Ave.), in Lafayette, LA.

Additionally, TravelCenters has completed retrofitting of its TA Truck Service and Petro:Lube facilities to bring them in line with industry standards and regulations for completing truck service and repair on both CNG (compressed natural gas) and LNG fueled trucks. These locations are:

  • TA Harrisburg, PA #012 (I-81, Exit 77)
  • TA Baytown, TX #017 (I-10, Exit 789)
  • TA Lafayette, LA #161 (I-10, Exit 101)
  • TA San Antonio, TX #147 (I-10, Exit 583)
  • TA Dayton, OH #011 (I-70, Exit 10)
  • Petro Ontario, CA #026 (I-10, Exit 57)

“We are very happy to have opened our Baytown and Lafayette LNG lanes,” shared Tom O’Brien, President and CEO of TravelCenters. “All of our LNG lanes are ‘super lanes’ in that they are equipped to dispense LNG, diesel and DEF. Because super lanes are integrated with existing fuel lanes, we do not interrupt truck traffic flow, or reduce available truck parking spaces. We now have six truck repair and maintenance facilities that perform repair and maintenance on LNG and CNG vehicles.”

“It is great to see LNG fuel now being offered at these two additional travel centers,” said Elen Phillips, Royal Dutch Shell’s Vice President Fuels Sales and Marketing for North America. “LNG can be a good choice for truck owners and more are making the switch to LNG. With each new site, we are pleased to be driving the development of safe and cost-efficient LNG fueling technology.”
