TA’s Peter Kempton Honored with Confectionery Leadership Award

TravelCenters of America’s Peter Kempton, Jr., Category Manager, Center Store, was announced as a 2021 Confectionery Leadership Awards recipient by The National Confectioners Association and Candy & Snack TODAY.

Peter has built a reputation for working with his confectionery partners to stay ahead of trends, and this last year further demonstrated his hard work and creative mindset. With the COVID-19 pandemic, category managers had to find new ways adapt, innovate and collaborate with suppliers. Peter worked with his partners of The National Confectioners Association to create National Candy Month, and in June 2020, the new promotion came to life, creating memorable moments to TA’s guests. This year, Peter will continue working with the association to elevate the event.

Peter has been with TravelCenters of America for 11 years, serving as a category manager for the past five and a half years.

Peter is joined by Maureen Keenan, Category Manager, Seasonal Candy, from CVS Pharmacy. The two will be honored during The National Confectioners Association’s virtual State of the Industry Conference on March 9.
