TAHQ Store Team Donates Sample Merchandise

For over 10 years, the Store Team at TAHQ has held sample merchandise sales to clean out the storage room for the upcoming seasons. The sales are a fun way to get TAHQ team members together and to raise money for charity. Each year, the profits are donated to St. Christopher Trucker’s Relief Fund. This year has in no way been traditional, though, and the Store Team was not able to have their annual sales. That didn’t stop them from thinking of others.

“We have all this sample merchandise sitting around, and I just couldn’t stop thinking about all the people who are struggling this holiday season,” said Erik Paalman, Category Manager. “I just knew in my heart I had to say something, and, of course, our leadership team was 100 percent on board with donating the items to charity.”

Retail Marketing Specialist Terri Paoletta joined Erik in gathering all of the sample merchandise vendors had sent the Store Team throughout the year, including stuffed animals and toys, electronics, clothing and more. In total, more than 1,000 items will be donated to American Red Cross for the holiday season.

“I’m proud that our team members are so compassionate and are thinking of others who may not be as fortunate as we are this year,” said Kaitlin Wolfe, VP, Merchandising. “When Erik asked about donating the merchandise, we knew it was the right thing to do. I hope we can bring some joy to others this holiday.”
