TA Rawlins Employee Known for Cheerful Demeanor

If you have ever rolled into the TA in Rawlins, Wyoming, you have probably been greeted by a little woman with a big, cheerful smile. That woman most likely is Candy Brooks.

When Candy is not welcoming professional drivers and motorists, guests will find her staying busy, straightening racks, refilling coffee, restocking shelves – whatever needs done. But customers always come first; if a customer needs something, Candy is happy to help, without hesitation.

A driver recently sent us a note about Candy, which in part reads:

In my travels, I rarely come across an employee at a truck stop that truly stands out. When I do, I think it is important to make management aware of such an individual. If the rest of your team is like Candy, this has to be the friendliest TravelCenter of America across the country…[Candy] greeted every weary driver that came into the store with a bright smile and an authentic, cheerful “Welcome!”

Reminiscent of an earlier work ethic, Candy busily attended her duties, but not at the expense of the customer’s time. She never once displayed even a hint of irritation when customers interrupted her routine with questions or a need to pay quickly in order to return to their vehicles as fast as possible. Her smile and cheerful demeanor was infectious and disarmed even the grumpiest driver. In a word, Candy was a “delight.” …It truly makes a difference when a driver has had a long or hard day.
