TA Paulsboro Employees Repair Car After Accident

Cathie David was looking forward to a quiet evening at home after ending her shift as a TSA at the TA in Paulsboro, New Jersey. On her way out, while still in the parking lot, she was sideswiped by a tractor trailer… in her brand new, sparkling red, Saturn Vue.

Three shop techs heard the commotion and realized it was Cathie involved in the accident. Justin Winkels, Brian Pierce and John Blake (JB) ran out to the scene.

“They came flying across the parking lot to make sure I was all right. I was in hysterics,” said Cathie. “It was my brand new car.”

Justin looked at Cathie’s car and let her know everything was going to be alright.

They kept the car at the site and fellow TSA Amy Cannon drove Cathie home.

Within 24 hours, unbeknownst to Cathie, Amy purchased all the necessary parts to fix the car. Also, within that same short time frame, Justin and Brian got together (on their personal time) and completely fixed the car.

“The next day, I was at home and got a call from Justin. He told me to come pick up my car. It was good as new,” said Cathie. “It means the world to me,” she continued. “They didn’t have to do that. I love these people to death.”

“Cathie had just bought her new car and there was no way the guys were going to let her struggle with car issues,” said Mike Rathbone, Paulsboro site General Manager. “I couldn’t be more proud of my team.”
