TA Kingman Team Member Impresses QSR Chain Owner with Actions

As the General Manager of the Popeyes at the TA in Kingman, Arizona, Angelica Rice encounters hundreds of guests each day. She says it’s just in her nature to make sure everyone feels cared about.

“I always try to go above and beyond and make sure every customer feels like they’re number one,” she said.

And that’s just how she made a husband and wife, both in their 90s, feel one day a few weeks back. A friend of the couple called in to make sure we knew how caring and respectful Angelica’s actions were. The caller owns his own quick-serve restaurant chain and said he was extremely impressed with how Angelica treated the elderly couple.

“I saw the man and woman come in with their walkers and I could tell they were struggling. After they placed their order, I had them sit down at a table in the dining area to make sure they were comfortable while waiting. I told them if they needed anything, to just let me know.”

What touched the friend (who called in) was that Angelica took the time to help the couple get back to their car safely. She held their food, opened the restaurant door and helped them get in the vehicle. She also gave them coupons to use next time.

Angelica says that while she may have been displaying the Values of Welcoming and Empathetic, she couldn’t have done it without her team being Team Players.

“I told my team, ‘if you’re okay, I’m going to help them out.’ And of course my team obliged.”

The Popeyes team kept everything running smoothly while Angelica took the couple to their car. She hopes this story reminds people that the little things matter. Being caring matters. And she loves that TA empowers its teams to go above and beyond.
