Petro Mebane Employee Helps Stranded Traveler

Site GM Steve Sutton sees hundreds of travelers every day at his site in Mebane, North Carolina. On July 30, he, along with a driver visiting his site, observed a woman who appeared to need assistance.

After speaking with her, they learned she had recently been in an argument with an acquaintance and was left at the travel center. She had no money.

Steve knew he could help. That’s just what they do at his site- help each other and be neighborly.

Steve and the driver looked up the nearest Greyhound station. The driver purchased the bus ticket and Steve drove her to the station. Knowing she had nothing to her name, Steve gave her funds to make sure she could get food on her way home.

The woman was very appreciative and said she had never seen kindness like that before.

“There’s no better feeling than knowing you may have helped someone get back on their feet. I wish this woman the best out of life,” Steve said.
