We appreciate veterans, not only for their loyalty, commitment and discipline, but also for their strategic thinking skills and ability to excel in a team environment. We’re in search of veterans who are interested in advancing their professional skills as truck service advisors, truck service technicians, diesel mechanics, assistant truck service general managers and truck service general managers.

TA, Petro Stopping Centers and TA Express make up the largest full-service travel center company in the U.S. Our mission is to take care of all highway travelers in the finest full-service facilities on the road. With more than 260 convenient locations, we employ over 23,000 people nationwide and thanks to our dedicated employees we are able to execute that mission while leading the industry.

In our TA Truck Service centers, located within our TA, Petro and TA Express facilities, friendly truck service advisors write up work orders, facilitate parts runs and manage the repair queue. Truck service technicians and diesel mechanics perform oil changes and lubrication, tire repairs and replacement, electrical repairs, A/C repairs, aftertreatment maintenance and more. Assistant truck service general managers and truck service general managers guide their staff to maximize vehicle uptime and keep America’s freight moving.

Department of Labor Certified Diesel Technician Apprenticeship Program

The TA Truck Service Diesel Technician Apprenticeship program gives aspiring truck service technicians and diesel mechanics guided, hands-on experience, teaching them to safely and efficiently perform the maintenance and repairs needed to keep today’s technologically advanced heavy-duty vehicles on the road. The program allows participants to work full-time at a TA Truck Service facility while completing their training, instead of paying to attend a vocational school or training program.

The majority of the training is facilitated by a mentor technician while on the job. Participants also have access to live support from an around-the-clock technical support team, made up of ASE Master Technicians based at TravelCenters of America headquarters.

Participation in the apprenticeship program can span 12 to 36 months, depending on the skill level of the truck service technician or diesel mechanic enrolled. Upon the successful completion of the training, the participant receives recognition by the U.S Department of Labor as a Journeyman Diesel Technician.
