Chef Nevin's sharing his recipe for this thrifty meal! This recipe is great for the long haul drivers. You can add all of these ingredients into the dish, microwave for 2 minutes and get the same great taste. All ingredients in the core recipe are shelf stable and easy to take on the road. Hey, you could have smoked a pork butt or brisket over the weekend and decide to take some on the road. What a great addition to this ramen!

Chef Nevin's Best Budget Ramen
Ingredients
- 1 Pkg. Ramen, Chicken Flavor
- 2 Cups Water
- 2 Tbsp. Dark or Low Sodium Soy Sauce
- 1 Tbsp. Mirin
- 1/2 tsp. Rice Vinegar
- 1/2 tsp. Sriracha or Sambal Oelek
Directions

In a small sauce pot, add all ingredients including the chicken packet with the exception of the noodles and bring to a boil.

Once it has reached a boil, add noodles and cook until noodles are tender.

Make it your own! You can eat it as is or add your favorite toppings. Pictured I have Smoked pork butt, Cilantro, Pickled Thai chilies and Pickled ginger.
Microwave Only Instructions:

Place all ingredients in the bowl except noodles and swirl around to dissolve the chicken packet.

Add noodles and microwave on high for 3 minutes.

Add your favorite toppings!
Chef's Tips
When I make this for myself, I use Sambal Oelek. It has way more depth of flavor than sriracha.
