This is why TravelCenters of America has once again partnered with the St. Christopher Truckers Development and Relief Fund. While supplies last, TA, Petro Stopping Centers, and TA Express stores will sell hats, cups, flashlights and cell phone accessories with the St. Christopher logo on them. These can be found in specially designed product centers displayed in the stores. One dollar from every sale will be given directly to St. Christopher, with the goal of donating over $80,000.
One driver who was helped by SCF explained: “I applied for financial assistance from the St. Christopher Fund the same month I had my triple bypass surgery and was given $700. Without this aid, my daughter and I would have been homeless. I honestly cannot express the relief it was to know that yes, the rent is paid. Yes, we still have a home. It may not seem that important to some, but the St. Christopher Fund has made a vital impact on my recovery.”
The St. Christopher’s Truckers Development and Relief Fund assistance could be in the form of direct payment for medical services, prescription drugs, and household expenses. This can be a huge help for truckers that have no one else to turn to.
