
The Regional Championships are set in the TravelCenters of America Snack Attack bracket! Get your bracket fix with us as we’re on our way to finding out the Regional champions. As a refresher, each week we will calculate sales of the standard-sized candies and snack-sized snacks Monday through Sunday. After each week, based on your purchases the strongest competitor will advance. Be sure to stop into one of our locations and help your favorites make it to the Fun Four!
In the Chip Region, the favorites continued on their collision course to the Chip Regional Championship. Doritos Nachos vs. Crunchy Cheetos saw the Chip Region favorite Doritos take care of business. Next, in the highest scoring matchup of the week, Lays Classic defeated Ruffles Cheddar & Sour Cream. This is the second straight week that Lays has been involved in the highest scoring matchup. Will that experience help them against the favorite Doritos? We will have to wait to find out.
The Chocolate Region saw two popular picks go down early. First, Snickers was able to handle Reese’s Peanut Butter Cup to advance to the Chocolate Region finals. According to the experts, Reese’s was the second favorite snack in the Chocolate Region. Next, defending bracket winner Tootsie Roll Pops was able to move past the favorite Peanut M&Ms. This sets up a rematch of last year’s bracket finals with Snickers vs. Tootsie Roll Pops. Last year the underdog Tootsie Roll Pops was able to pull off the victory. Who will succeed this year?
Next in the Candy Region, we had the closest matchups through this round. First, Original Gourmet Lollipops vs. Welch’s Fruit Snacks had the sucker outlast the chewy. Then, in the closest matchup of the tournament so far, Haribo Goldbears squeaked by Doublemint Gum by only 21 packs. With that, the Candy Regional final puts Original Gourmet Lollipops vs. Haribo Goldbears. Which will last the longest?
Lastly, in the Salty Region the favorites held pat. The nutty battle of Planters Tube Peanuts vs. Wonderful Pistachios saw Planters Peanuts overwhelmingly take the victory. They will face Combos Cheddar Cheese Pretzel who was able to move past David Sunflower Seeds. Planters Tube Peanuts vs. Combos Cheddar Cheese Pretzel; which do you see making it to the Fun Four?
