Snickers (the Chocolate Region Champion), has been a clear favorite throughout the tournament. In the first round, they simply overpowered the major underdog of Kinder Joy. So far in the tournament, Round 2 was the closest matchup for Snickers. They were still able to easily move past Reese’s Peanut Butter Cups. Starting in the Regionals, the already powerful Snickers became aided by a buy one get one promotion to only further its progress. First they got revenge from last year by knocking out defending bracket champion, Tootsie Roll Pops. Then, in their Fun Four matchup, they easily continued their dominance by defeating the Salty Region Champion, Planters Tube Peanuts. Early this week, the buy one get one promotion will end. Will they be able to stand on their own to show they didn’t need it to win? We’ll have to wait and see.
The Chip Region Champion Doritos Nachos has been a secondary favorite from the start. The Chip Region favorite was just too big for Snyder’s Mini Pretzels. In the second round, they grabbed the cheetah cat by its tail and handled Crunchy Cheetos to move on. In their Regional matchup, they faced Lays Classic which gave them the closest matchup of the tournament. Through their three in-region matchups, Doritos Nachos was the most consistent of all the competitors, having three high scoring matchups all within 125 units of one another. In their Fun Four, they faced the Candy Region Champion, Original Gourmet Lollipop. They outlasted the epicurean suckers convincingly to make it to the Championship. Can Doritos Nacho’s consistent ways help in the finals? For the BOLD, we will find out.
