Round 2 of Candy Craziness!

The Regional Championships are set in the TravelCenters of America Candy Craziness bracket! We had multiple favorites go down on the way to setting our Regional matchups. As a reminder, each week we will calculate total units sold of the standard-sized candies Monday through Sunday. Be sure to stop into one of our locations and help your favorites make it to the Fun Four!

A heavy favorite went down in the Chocolate Region. First, Snickers rolled past Twix in the battle of the current buy one, get one free Quick Picks deals. Then, championship favorite Reese’s Peanut Butter Cup was knocked out by Peanut M&M’s. This sets up a Snickers vs. Peanut M&M’s Chocolate Region Finals. Both have peanuts. Both have chocolate. Will the extra caramel and nougat help Snickers advance? We will have to wait to find out.

The Gum & Mint Region continues to keep it fresh. Doublemint Gum advanced in another blowout victory. This time it was against Extra Spearmint Gum. Then, Mentos Fruit solidly made it past Tic Tac Gum. The Doublemint Gum vs. Mentos Fruit puts the tried-and-true Doublemint against the only non-mint flavoring in the region, Mentos Fruit. Mint or Fruit? Which do you see making it to the Fun Four?

Ironically, suckers maintained their successful runs in the Chewy Region. Tootsie Roll Pops got to the center and upset heavy favorite Starburst. They will meet up against Original Gourmet Lollipops who knocked out the other Starburst affiliate, FaveREDs. Tootsie Roll Pops vs. Original Gourmet Lollipops. Both are suckers. One with a candy center. One with many flavors. Which will last the longest?

Lastly, the Gummy Region had a couple fairly dominating performances. First, Welch’s Fruit Snacks consistency moved it past Swedish Fish. Then, favorite, Sour Patch Kids just did not have enough to get by Haribo Goldbears. This will put Welch’s Fruit Snacks vs. Haribo Goldbears in the Gummy Region finals. Neither was a heavy favorite throughout the tournament. Both have continued to put in the work. Who will succeed?

As a reminder, at the end of the bracket look for a coupon of the winning candy on the UltraOne Kiosk April 22 through April 26. Who do you think is going to win? Follow along on our Facebook and Twitter pages, updates on our blog, and at site on our digital TV boards.
