3 Healthy Meals to Get Professional Drivers Through the Day

Whether you count the number of miles driven, or measure the weight of goods transported, there’s truly no way to quantify the impact that professional drivers have on our country. So as our way of giving back to you, we’re proud to offer great restaurant options that are not only conveniently located along your routes, but also provide food choices that you can feel great about.

With long drives and plenty of time sitting, nutritious meals are as important as ever for professional drivers. And we know it’s not always easy to find a filling meal that fits your driving schedule and your dietary goals. So, by partnering with Cleveland Clinic, one of the most respected and knowledgeable medical centers in the world, we’ve been able to include healthier options on our menus nationwide. It’s our way of helping drivers avoid the many pitfalls of poor eating—from weight gain or high blood pressure to heart disease, diabetes, and more.

  1. Breakfast
Looking to start off your day with a Cleveland Clinic-approved meal? Hop off the highway at the next closest exit and try our egg white omelet with mushrooms, spinach, tomatoes, onions, and peppers. Served with a fruit cup on the side, it’s a classic, hearty, and delicious way to brighten your morning.

  2. Lunch
If you’ve got downtime during the afternoon, look for a participating restaurant within our nationwide network of travel centers for a healthy option like our grilled chicken sandwich. When ordered on lettuce instead of a bun, it becomes a well-rounded and nutritious lunch between stops.

  3. Dinner
Nothing beats the perfect meal after a long day of driving. But, keeping America moving means keeping drivers healthy, too! Try our salmon for a light and wholesome meal. Grilled and served with rice pilaf and broccoli, it’s a flavorful meal that’ll keep you feeling great.

In partnership with Cleveland Clinic, and in alignment with key recommendations from Dietary Guidelines for Americans 2020-2025, we’ve ensured our healthy options meet important nutritional criteria. Any Cleveland Clinic-recommended menu item has less than 23 grams of added sugars (17 for children), less than 11 grams of saturated fat (7 for children), and less than 765 grams of sodium.

Find participating full-service restaurants inside TA and Petro travel centers. Then just look for the Cleveland Clinic symbol next to menu items and know that you’re making a healthy choice for your next meal. We look forward to welcoming you!
